A New Standard of Care in Cat Boarding - Where Welfare Comes First.

Luxury Cat Lodge
verandah Cat Cabin

Luxury Cat Lodge was created with one simple goal: to provide cats with the highest standard of care in an environment designed specifically for their health, wellbeing and happiness.

Our boutique facility features just 28 purpose-built suites, allowing every guest to receive personalised attention in a calm, peaceful setting. From our beautifully appointed luxury rooms to our window and exclusive verandah suites, every space has been thoughtfully designed to support your cat’s natural behaviours while providing comfort, security and enrichment.

Luxury Cat Lodge was founded by Jules dos Santos, an Animal Welfare Social Scientist, Qualified Veterinary Nurse and Cat Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in animal care, welfare and behaviour. Jules has dedicated her career to improving the lives of cats through clinical practice, education, research and animal welfare advocacy.

Unlike many boarding facilities, we proudly welcome senior cats, cats with ongoing medical conditions, and those requiring specialised monitoring or medication during their stay. Every guest receives an individualised care plan tailored to their unique needs, ensuring they receive the highest standard of professional and compassionate care.

Whether your cat is staying for a weekend, an extended holiday or requires specialised medical boarding, you can leave with confidence knowing they are being cared for by experienced feline professionals who understand cats as the unique species they are.

At Luxury Cat Lodge, we believe every cat deserves more than just a place to stay—they deserve to feel safe, respected and cared for in an environment where their welfare always comes first.

Meet the Founder

Jules Luxury Cat Lodge

Jules dos Santos

Founder, Veterinary Nurse & Cat Psychologist
Jules dos Santos has dedicated her life to improving the health, welfare and wellbeing of animals. Her passion began in childhood and led her to volunteer at her local veterinary hospital at just 14 years of age. After qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 1998, Jules built a career spanning more than 30 years across general practice, specialist surgery, emergency and critical care, developing extensive experience caring for animals with both routine and complex medical needs.

Throughout her career, Jules recognised that cats have unique physical, behavioural and emotional needs that are often overlooked. This inspired her to establish Luxury Cat Lodge—a boutique boarding facility designed around the science of feline welfare rather than traditional boarding practices. Every aspect of the lodge has been carefully created to provide cats with a safe, enriching and low-stress environment where their welfare always comes first.

Jules is an Animal Welfare Social Scientist, Qualified Veterinary Nurse and Cat Psychologist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, an Advanced Diploma in Feline Behaviour and Cat Psychology (with Distinction), and has dedicated her career to bridging the gap between animal welfare science and community education.

Her expertise extends well beyond boarding. Jules has taught university students, presented at conferences, universities, TAFE colleges, schools and community organisations, advised government and industry on animal welfare matters, and previously served as Boarding Director for the Pet Industry Association Australia. She has also contributed to government advisory groups focused on animal welfare and industry standards.

In 2021, Jules founded Ninth Life Foundation, a registered charity committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming senior, vulnerable and high-needs cats. Through both Luxury Cat Lodge and Ninth Life Foundation, she continues her mission of improving the lives of cats through evidence-based care, education and advocacy.

Jules’ personal philosophy is simple:

“True animal welfare begins when we understand and respect the cat for the species it is.”

This philosophy guides everything she does and is reflected in every aspect of Luxury Cat Lodge, where cat care, compassion and comfort are never compromised.

Bee

Manager
Belinda has always been taken by a furry face! With a background in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, she felt the pull to work with those furry faces she loves was stronger.

This led her to commence her Certificate II in Animal Studies and a Wildlife Conservation Certificate and also became a qualified volunteer Wildlife Rescue Officer.

While completing work placement at Luxury Cat Lodge she was extremely excited to be offered a permanent position.

Belinda is looking forward to meeting and caring for many beautiful furry cat faces and learning more about the playful and inquisitive nature of cats!

Jacqui

Cat Cuddler
From a young age I have always felt a connection to animals and a strong need to advocate for those without a voice. When I was 12 I rescued Misty (pictured) and my love for cats solidified, I adopted Cookie a few years later. Although I have a background in Hospitality Management I have always been drawn back to working with animals. After enrolling in a Cert II in Animal Care I started volunteering my time at a local animal shelter which lead to me applying for Luxury Cat Lodge. Working with Jules and the team feels like a dream come true! I really enjoy getting to know your cats and all their unique personalities. The cat cuddles are definitely an added bonus! 😻

FAQ & Policies

Medical Attention

Should we feel that your cat is unwell at any time during their stay, our own affiliated veterinarian will be contacted. If treatment is deemed necessary we will endeavour to contact your regular veterinarian. A fee will be charged for this service (our veterinarians fees and any travel expenses involved) payable on checkout.

Some cat(s) are at a higher risk of losing weight, being off their food for a short time, experiencing anxiety and diarrhoea. Such cat(s), including aged and ‘stressy’ cat(s) may have a decline in health or health issues which may become more pronounced or reoccur due to the stress of being away from home and their owners. In some instances, medications such as laxatives may be administered to assist your cat(s) comfort during their holiday with us. Divine Creatures endeavour to offer the very best of care when we accept your pet for boarding. Your assistance in supplying appropriate information and informing us of any pre-existing conditions will help us to ensure that we provide the best possible care for your cat(s).

If we deem it necessary for the boarding cat(s) to have veterinary attention, every effort will be made to contact and advise you accordingly. If we are unable to contact you, we will seek veterinary attention as we see fit. In any event, the owner will be liable for all expenses incurred. In the unlikely event that the boarding cat(s) becomes sick, I consent Divine Creatures or agent to transport my cat(s) to the Small Animal Specialist Centre which is staffed 24 hours for emergency treatment.

Administering Medication

Staff from Luxury Cat Lodge are happy to administer any medications that your cat may require, this includes administering tablets, injections or creams. All supplied medication must be prescribed by a licensed veterinarian and clearly labelled as such. There is an additional fee per dose and per medication, depending on the amount and difficulty of medicating. To care for your cat, additional information pertaining to the illness and medication may be requested and must be supplied. A daily record will be kept by our qualified staff.

Jules is able to accept stable diabetic cats in her  “Exclusive Suites”. A stable diabetic cat has been diagnosed more than 6 months ago and/or has not had the insulin changed or altered for more than 6 months.

In order to provide premium care, all diabetics (and high care cats) are boarded in beautifully designed rooms at the owner of Luxury Cat Lodge personal home. Your cat will receive care directly from Jules dos Santos (Qualified Emergency and ICU Veterinary Nurse, Former Boarding Director for the Pet Industry Association Australia, Cat Psychologist [Dip] and cat welfare advisor to government bodies).

Located on the Central Coast near Green Point, this is luxury and exclusivity at its finest! Give your cat the ultimate holiday in one of these exclusive rooms with garden window views and wall-mounted scratching posts.

This exclusive service is $120 per night which includes twice daily insulin injections, urine or blood glucose monitoring, and diet control.

Please view images of the Exclusive Suites here: https://divinecreatures.com.au/rooms/exclusive-suite/ As your cat is in our high care category requiring this attention, we only apply a 2x night minimum stay, not 14 nights.

Dietary Questions

We feed our resort guests the highest quality premium food of Royal Canin Sensible Dry. Any other diet other than the one supplied by Luxury Cat Lodge or if your cat(s) has special dietary needs, eg. diabetic, urinary tract problems, dietary sensitivity/allergies, must be supplied or purchased. Sufficient food must be supplied by you or purchased to feed your cat(s) for the entire duration of the booked holiday. Any additional bags required to be opened will be charged to your account.

No Raw Food Policy

At Luxury Cat Lodge we are committed to providing the highest level of care for your beloved cat(s). We aim to provide your cat with an environment that is comfortable, stress free and healthy and we take great precautions in reducing the risk of any type of infectious disease.

Over the last few years it has become increasingly more popular to feed raw meat-based diets to pets but unfortunately this type of diet comes with risks that we can’t accept at Luxury Cat Lodge. A variety of potential pathogens including E. Coli, Clostridium spp, Campylobacter and Salmonella may be present in raw meat, including meat that is intended for human consumption. As freezing and freeze-drying do not destroy all pathogens, both home-prepared and commercial raw meat-based diets are at risk of being contaminated.

Pets or animals that consume contaminated meat may become ill, but even if they do not become overtly unwell or appear healthy, that is not to say they don’t pose a risk to others. Studies have shown that the bacteria can shed from infected animals into the environment for many days, sometimes even weeks.

For our cattery this poses a health risk for our other boarders and our staff. As we cannot accept this risk, we have implemented a “No Raw Food” Policy.

Please be advised that we cannot make any exceptions. This policy has been made to protect the valued health and safety of all boarders and our staff. It is not intended to instruct on what you feed your pet at home, nor is it intended to challenge the perceived benefits of a raw meat diet.

We would greatly appreciate if you could please inform us if your cat has been fed raw meat at home before presenting to the cattery in order for us to take the necessary precautions (eg. handling with gloves and protective clothing). These boarders are unfortunately not allowed in our exercise area.

We thank you for your understanding.
